Pediatrician at the Medical University of South Carolina with extraordinary continuity across lead-poisoning policy bodies — nearly three decades of ACCLPP involvement, from 1978 ACCLPP member to 2005 AAP liaison.
His co-authorship of the Medical Assessment and Interventions chapter in the 2002 ACCLPP case-management guidelines, with James R. Roberts, placed him in a direct role interpreting clinical management of lead-exposed children.
Not a TLC investigator. Spans almost the entire arc from pre-TLC guideline development through the post-TLC policy decisions that cited the trial to recommend against chelation.
