The Harvard School of Public Health serves as the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for TLC. Located on historic
Tremont Street in Boston, the DCC is responsible for the day-to-day data management and overall coordination of the study. Blood leads are
transmitted daily via the Internet from the Central Laboratory at the CDC to the DCC computers. Study randomizations,
which were completed on January 17, 1997, were done by Data Coordinating staff via telephone with Clinical Center staff. Data editing, analysis,
and reporting are all coordinated through the DCC.

The TLC Newark Clinical Center is based at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ),
with PIs from UMDNJ University Hospital, the Veterans' Administration Medical Center, and the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School &
EOHSI. Newark is the only TLC Clinical Center staffed to handle enrollment of children from homes where Spanish
is the principal language, constituting approximately 5% of TLC enrollees, or 20% of TLC Newark children.


The TLC Phildelphia Clinical Center is based at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), with new offices in
the Abramson Research Center.

Kennedy Krieger Institute

The TLC Batimore Clinical Center is a consortium between Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI), Johns Hopkins University
Hospital, and the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Based at KKI on Biddle Street, TLC Baltimore is
fortunate to be located in a city long attuned to the needs of lead-poisoned children. With a stock of "lead-free" housing
in the city, they arrange for eligible families to relocate whil
