# Only the Newark TLC clinical center had Spanish language staff and consent documents, and thus could enroll families for which Spanish was the language spoken in the home.

* Enrollment in TLC, which began September 7, 1994, was completed on January 22, 1997, with 780 total children. Each child will have 3 years of follow up, with periodic medical and psychometric evaluations, cultimating in a final developmental assessment at the 3-year visit. Final developmental assessments should be completed by January 2000.
